The series will be held at STUDIO 153, a Civil War era 7000SF warehouse located on a cobblestone street in Red Hook. Extensive design work and fabrication will serve to activate the space, communicate complex ideas about Latinx and Afro-Latinx identities and champion activists and educators whose practices typically exist outside of the conventional gallery culture and traditional exhibition formats.
Donating would ensure that the entirety of this project becomes a reality. We want to ensure that these workshops are free and accessible to the public in order to create truly open dialogue and connection between the artists, practitioners, activists and the community.
Funds would support artists’ stipends, cost of materials, fabrication of the exhibition, as well as printed material and documentation of the series.
All donors will be recognized in the physical catalogue, bi-weekly newsletters, and website.
